Why we built
stekid at all.
We got tired of "free" converters that weren't — the ones that watermark your file, make you sign up, or quietly upload your document to a server you'll never see. So we built the opposite.
stekid started as a handful of tools we kept needing ourselves: turning a screenshot into a PDF, pulling audio out of a video, editing a PDF without opening a full desktop app. Every existing option wanted an account, a subscription, or a slice of our file's privacy.
So each tool here runs entirely in your browser. Your file is read, converted, and handed back to you without ever leaving your device. No server queue, no "processing," no catch. That's the whole idea — and it's the only idea we plan on having.
